Favourite Short Stories

It's super rare that I ever feel like writing about writing instead of actually writing (yeah, that's a lot of writings). I just can't imagine that anyone would really be interested in what I have to say about that kind of thing. But in case you are: over on my blog, listophelia, I've posted a list of my top ten favourite short stories. It'll give you some idea of what I love about writing and reading short fiction. And probably a little insight into my weirdo neuroses as well.

All Good Things Have Got To Start Somewhere

So I've had Nelly Furtado's "All Good Things Come To An End" in my head all day today (so much better with Chris Martin, if you can find that version) and for good reason. I had my book launch last week, and instead of celebrating for one night like a normal person, I stretched "Book Launch Day" into "Book Launch Week" (or "Book Launch 12 Days," if you want to be specific). I took a bunch of days off work, started the week with a trip to Niagara Falls, ended it with a trip to Canada's Wonderland, and managed to smush in the middle a Leafs game, a Raptors game, the Ontario Science Centre, the Metro Toronto Zoo, the IMAX, and numerous trips back and forth to the airport to pick up family and friends who came in town for the launch, much eating and drinking...
