This title is irresistible, and the novel traces the patterns of love and need between a female protagonist whose lover disappears, and the lover’s wife that she then has an affair with. “She was grateful for the bones of her body, which had never meant anything to her before, but now received this gift, this touch, these invisible traces of moisture from his own warm skin”. Polymorpously lyrical.
