A love story, the tale of India’s independence, and, according to Wikipedia, at 591,552 words, one of the longest novels ever published in a single volume, I wished this remarkable masterpiece of a novel would never end. I can’t wait for Seth’s sequel, A Suitable Girl, which is reported to bring the story into the present day and is scheduled to be published next year.
