Biblioasis, Porcupine's Quill, and Palimpsest present "What We Talk About When We Talk About Poetry," a conversation on reviewing and Canadian poetry featuring poet/critics Zachariah Wells, Anita Lahey and Jason Guriel, guest-moderated by GG-winning poet Richard Greene.
In addition to launching their new books of literary essays, participants will be discussing the work and legacies of Canadian poets both celebrated and not, the role of the skeptical review in critical culture, and recent online controversies about gender equity and literary taste-making.
The evening will also include an introductory reading by Alexandra Oliver, author of Meeting the Tormentors in Safeway, a National Post Poetry Book of the Year for 2013. Hosted by the wonderful Ben McNally Books.
