Photos! GG Literary Award Winners Receive their prizes from Governor General David Johnston

On Thursday, November 28, the fourteen 2013 Governor General’s Literary Award winners (in the seven English and French-language categories) were presented with their Awards at Rideau Hall by His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada. The evening's festivities gathered together the winners as well as publishers, philanthropists, politicians and civil servants. The Canada Council for the Arts funds, administers and promotes the Governor General’s Literary Awards. Each winner receives $25,000. The publisher of each winning book receives $3,000 to support promotional activities. Non-winning finalists each receive $1,000 in recognition of their selection as finalists, bringing the total value of the awards to approximately $450,000. All photo credited to Cpl.
