16,514 Canadian Authors Share $9.9 Million in PLR Payments

Canadian authors who are registered for the federal Public Lending Rights Commission payments for the lending of their books by Canadian libraries are sharing $9.9 million. The money is distributed every February, and this year it went to over 16,500 Canadian writers, translators and illustrators from every province and territory in Canada, as well as to Canadians living abroad. The average payment was $600 and the maximum payment was $2,800.
