CBC's Canada Reads Reading List
Submitted by clelia on November 29, 2007 - 11:35am
The CBC’s Canada Reads 2008 reading list has been posted. The “week-long radio special that celebrates books” runs from February 25 to 29, 2008. There’s lots of time to read the five books selected by the five panelists. Canada Reads is always great to listen to, but it’s most fun when you can participate. You can voice your opinion on “Your Say,” the Canada Reads blog. The five works of Canadian fiction are: King Leary by Paul Quarrington (selected by Dave Bidini), Brown Girl in the Ring by Nalo Hopkinson (selected by Jemeni), Icefields by Thomas Wharton (selected by Steve MacLean), From the Fifteenth District by Mavis Gallant (selected by Lisa Moore), and Not Wanted on the Voyage by Timothy Findley (selected by Zaib Shaikh). The show is hosted by Jian Ghomeshi. Visit the CBC website to read descriptions of the books and to vote for the book you’re “most eager to read.” Related item from our archives |
