December to Remember: Anvil Press Visits Toronto with Five Authors!

By Nathaniel G. Moore

This coming December 8th, Vancouver-based publisher Anvil Press is having a special late-fall/early-winter launch of recent titles here in Toronto, and I am the special guest referee! I mean host. I had a chance to talk to one of that night's readers, the busiest man in Canlit showbiz Tony Burgess, about his upcoming Toronto date and debut with Anvil Press.

NGM:

So Tony, when did you start working on Ravenna Gets?

TB:

Uh....Here and there, bits and peices over couple years.

NGM:

And did you take all the photos in it?

TB:

Yeah, I did. 'cept the one with the guns on the guy laying down is a still from the Deathcare short film based on a story from Bewdley called "The Dog."

NGM:

Do you ever imagine working for Tourism Ontario?

TB:

I think in my own small way, I already do.

NGM:

If so what would you say to people on the phone?

TB:

Regular stuff.

The details: On December 8, 2010 at 7 p.m., come out to hear five Anvil Press authors read from brand new work. Buy their books, get them signed, have a drink. The readers for the evening are: Ed Macdonald (Spat the Dummy), Tony Burgess (Ravenna Gets), Bonnie Bowman (Spaz), Kerry Ryan (Vs.) Salvatore Difalco (The Mountie at Niagara Falls).

It all goes down at The Garrison, 1197 Dundas St West, (just west of Ossington). The event is free.
