Doing It In Public: A Celebration of Watch This Space

Share |

Despite the rain and wind, Watch This Space left its mark at Wychwood Barns on Sunday April 25th. The afternoon started off with an indoor chalk drawing contest with the winner winning a collection of books and a Chester/Scaredy Squirrel book bag from Kids Can Press. Spacing Magazine Editor Matthew Blackett then moderated a lively town-hall style discussion with author Hadley Dyer, illustrator Marc Ngui, City Trustee Josh Matlow and City Councilor Joe Mihevc, which touched on such topics as graffiti and getting teens involves in designing public spaces. Doing It In Public was hosted by Small Print, an organization that runs literary programs for children and teens in the Toronto area, Spacing Magazine, Theatre Direct and Torontoist.com.
