Doors Open at Coach House May 24 & 25
Submitted by Open Book Toronto Guest on May 21, 2008 - 10:06pm
By Evan Munday. From the Coach House Books website. Toronto Culture is once again presenting the popular Doors Open Toronto weekend, when up to 150 buildings of architectural, historic, cultural and social significance open their doors to the public for a city-wide celebration. And once again, the historic Coach House, home to Coach House Books and Coach House printing, will be opening its doors to the public. Coach House Books is located in a coach house tucked away on the University of Toronto campus. Built in the late 1800s, the building has been the home of sister companies Coach House Books and Coach House Printing since 1967. Learn about a linotype machine, watch the presses and bindery equipment in action, see the chair in which William S. Burroughs slept and buy some books at discount prices!
