Interview with Toronto Poet Luciano Iacobelli

Toronto writer Frank Giorno recently interviewed poet, playwright and publisher of Lyrical Myrical Press and Quattro Books, Luciano Iacobelli, about poetry slams of the 1980s, book publishing, teaching and more. A taste:

What interested you in poetry?
As a young boy growing up in Toronto, I thought all adults read poetry, so I became interested for all the wrong reasons -- I wanted to please the grown ups. Later on in my teens, I really liked Shakespeare and the images, the language and I immediately fell in love with poetry all over again. Poetry was also my way of elevating my self out of the everyday existence of my neighbourhood.
