Submitted by Grace on June 26, 2013 - 12:49pm
From our friends at the Toronto Public Library Toronto Public Library invites applications from print and animation artists and illustrators for the 2014 TD Summer Reading Club Artist position. The TD Summer Reading Club is a popular annual program which promotes reading and the enjoyment of books over the summer months. It is offered to children in libraries across Canada. The program originated at Toronto Public Library and, with the partnership of Library and Archives Canada and the sponsorship of TD Bank Group, is now distributed across the country. Toronto Public Library directs the creative part of the program and develops the materials with our program partners and committees. We’re currently looking for an artist for the 2014 TD Summer Reading Club. Previous illustrators include Stéphane Jorisch, Werner Zimmerman, Martha Newbigging, Kim LeFave and Dušan Petričić. Go! is the theme this summer with artwork created by Matt James. The theme in development for 2014 is Making, where summer is all about innovation, connectivity and creativity. We will encourage and empower kids to take some risks, get messy and let loose their imaginations. Kids will be dreamers of dreams and makers of worlds, and books will be the sparks that help inspire, the tools that help them build.
