The Monthly Eggplant Is Coming - What the $@#%&!?
Submitted by nathanielgmoore on September 10, 2009 - 4:44pm
Toronto has a brand new monthly reading series with an odd name, which seems fitting since its spawned from the oddly named Steel Bananas creative online cell. The series will feature "local writers keeping it real all over the place along with the best espresso in the West end," and it will be hosted by Steel Bananas' own Curran Folkers. The first installment of the series seems to be a deliberate infomercial from the upcoming Gulch anthology, which has over fifty contributors in it. All four readers are in the upcoming Tightrope Books release. "As we all know, the release of Gulch is imminent. Thus, we thought it would be fitting to kick off this Monthly Eggplant with authors in our upcoming anthology. Consider this a sneak preview of the book, with more Gulch authors to come in future Eggplant installments." Episode One: Birth of the Gulch N.
