New on the Scene: Dragnet Magazine
Submitted by clelia on March 15, 2011 - 2:39pm
There's a new Canadian literary journal on the Internet this winter: Dragnet Magazine. The editors of the magazine, Andrew Battershill and Jeremy Hanson-Finger, are in their early 20s, and they claim their youth and youthful outlook are features that set Dragnet Magazine apart from other literary journals: "All of [the magazine's] writers are under forty, and most are under thirty…. [E]veryone involved in the project understands that a sense of play isn't childish; it's critical to good literature." Other reasons to check out Dragnet: it looks great, it appears in three electronic formats and "it pushes boundaries." The first issue of Dragnet includes Sheila Heti, J.R. Carpenter and Jacob Wren, as well as 15 new voices. Related item from our archives |
