A One-of-a-Kind Treat: Charles Pachter’s M is for Moose

Today’s Toronto Star includes a great article by Martin Knelman about Canadian artist Charles Pachter and his new book, M is for Moose (Cormorant Books). In M is for Moose, Pachter matches words with his striking paintings of the many good things Canada is famous for, such as beavers, butter tarts, hockey players and Margaret Atwood. Knelman calls M is for Moose "a whimsical, one-of-a-kind treat for kids and former kids, and just about anyone else who likes the idea of creating a Canadian pop mythology." He writes, "copies of M is for Moose ($20) are being consumed at a phenomenal rate. I predict that not only will this book be a best-seller this season but that it is destined to endure as one of this country's all-time classics."
