Open Book Literary Salon 2014: Advice for Myself
Submitted by Grace on January 14, 2014 - 10:54am
What happens when you get three of Toronto's favourite writers together with one of the city's smartest book personalities and a crowd of book lovers? You get the Open Book literary salon! On February 27, 2014, Open Book will be hosting a literary salon at the Spoke Club in Toronto (600 King Street West). From 7:00 p.m., guests will be invited to snack, listen, and (if they wish) ask questions and add comments on a discussion about craft and career. We're asking Stacey May Fowles, Brian Francis and Michael Winter what they know now that they would tell themselves back at the beginning of their careers, as emerging writers. By extension, we're asking what advice they have for other writers, both emerging and established. How does a writer make a living? Is there a perfect writing routine? What do you do with ideas that don't become books? With our own brilliant Becky Toyne moderating the discussion, things are sure to get interesting. And in true salon style, you're welcome to join the conversation or sit back and take it in. For more information, you can see our salon webpage or the Facebook event page. Please RSVP to this free event either on our Facebook event page or by emailing events@openbooktoronto.com. Related item from our archives |
