From our friends at NorthWords:

Do you need a kickstart to your writing life? Got a project that needs guidance, encouragement or just some dedicated writing time? You may find just what you need in the beauty of Muskoka this June.

NorthWords Muskoka Literary Festival has recently partnered with the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies to run a five day writers’ retreat to be held in Port Sydney from June 24 to June 28, 2013 at the Trillium Resort and Spa.

The retreat will combine an intensive workshop experience, led by award-winning writers David Layton and Priscila Uppal, with unique meditation sessions, led by Ranjini George Philip. Focussing on the opening pages of your novel, memoir or creative non-fiction, the workshop will cover all aspects of prose writing, including plot, character development and style. Fifteen pages of prose, submitted by June 15, 2013 will be subjected to intensive work-shopping and professional editing.

This is a one of a kind event, suitable for both beginners and advanced writers. Don't miss the chance to uniquely combine a relaxing natural setting with an intense workshop experience.

Additional information about the retreat can be found at http://www.muskokawritersretreat.com and registration information is available at http://learn.utoronto.ca/courses-programs/creative-writing.
