Kelli Deeth first made her mark on the literary world with 2001's The Girl Without Anyone, which was named a Globe & Mail Best Book. This season, she returns with a brand new collection, The Other Side of Youth (Aresenal Pulp Press). These visceral stories have been praised as "precise", "honest" and "raw". Quill & Quire said that each one is a "finely-tuned powerhouse".

In her answers to the Proust Questionnaire, Kelli tells Open Book about light and water, the musical ability she would love to have, and her own personal motto.

The Proust Questionnaire was not invented by Marcel Proust, but it was a much loved game by the French author and many of his contemporaries. The idea behind the questionnaire is that the answers are supposed to reveal the respondent's "true" nature.

You can catch Kelli in person at a multi-publisher literary party called the Fall Fiction Feast! On Tuesday, October 15, 2013, Kelli will be reading with Matthew Heiti, Dana Mills and Rosemary Nixon. The fun starts at 7:00p.m. at Supermarket Restaurant (268 August Avenue) in Toronto. Don't miss this chance to see an amazing group of authors reading from brand new works!
