Scotiabank Giller Shortlist Announced

Named in honour of Doris Giller and founded in 1994 by her husband, Toronto businessman Jack Rabinovitch, the Scotiabank Giller Prize awards $40,000 annually to the author of the best Canadian novel or short story collection. Yesterday, the jury announced the shortlist of books and authors in the running for this amazing prize. The five authors on the shortlist are: Elizabeth Hay for her novel Late Nights on Air, Michael Ondaatje for his novel Divisadero, Daniel Poliquin for his novel A Secret Between Us, M.G. Vassanji for his novel The Assassin’s Song, and Alissa York for her novel Effigy. All the details can be found here. Related item from our archives |
