Simon Schneiderman's Preoccupied with My Father

Preoccupied with My Father is a graphic memoir by Simon Schneiderman about his late father, Yoel. With paintings and poetry he depicts his father's life after the Holocaust. The Chronicle-Herald calls Preoccupied with My Father "...emotionally and psychologically immense...The potency of so few words and strokes of paint is unexpected and undeniable". Read the review here. Reproductions of the paintings and text from the book are on display at Miles Nadel JCC in the Jacobs Lounge Visual Arts Space until December 3 and at Koffler Centre until November 12.

Schneiderman was interviewed this morning by Andy Barrie on Metro Morning for Remembrance Day, and an interview with Schneiderman will be played on CBC’s Tapestry on November 11 at 2:05. Schniedermann will be speaking about Preoccupied with My Father and his personal experiences on November 11 at 4:30 at the Jewish Book Fair.
