Toronto Poetry Parade

If you're looking for an fun literary event this weekend, you'll want to check out the Toronto Poetry Parade at The Annex Live on Sunday, November 8 at 7 p.m. The evening is co-hosted by Desi Di Nardo (The Plural of Some Things, Guernica Editions) and Canada's Poet Laureate, Pierre DesRuisseaux.

DesRuisseaux, Max Layton, Armand Garnet Ruffo and Toronto's Poet Laureate, Dionne Brand, will be reading at the event. The evening also features local jazz duo Norm Amadio and Julie McGregor and an exhibit of art by Canadian landscape artist Mario Ricci.

You can also find out about some up-and-coming poets at the Toronto Poetry Parade. The event includes a poetry contest for high school students, sponsored by Book City in the Annex.
