"A very strong, original debut"
Submitted by clelia on July 9, 2009 - 12:52pm
Why does Lauren Kirshner, Open Book's July Writer in Residence, feel like 1980s Madonna? Because the Globe and Mail calls her novel, Where We Have to Go (McClelland & Stewart, 2009), "A very strong, original debut." Reviewer Zoe Whittall writes, "Where We Have to Go is a sombre but playful saga of a nerdy girl's fight for herself and her family, and highlights Kirshner as a new novelist to watch."
