They’re all coming to perform at the brand new Telling Tales: A Family Festival of Stories at Westfield Heritage Village in the Hamilton area. As per The 48-Hour Interview with June Dickenson and Susan Jasper in Open Book's Spring Magazine, this brand new event for children is making a smash debut this year. Mark your calendars -- Telling Tales: A Family Festival of Stories at Westfield Heritage Village will take place on September 20, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring authors Dennis Lee, Eddie Douglas, Gillian Chan, Ruth Ohi, Sylvia McNicholl, Shane Peacock, Richard Scrimger, Turkey Rhubarb, Janet Wilson, Werner Zimmerman and many, many more. This all-Canadian festival will bring families, authors, storytellers, illustrators and musicians together in the one-of-a-kind Westfield Heritage Village. Westfield is managed by the Hamilton Conservation Authority and situated in Rockton, Ontario. The village is a local treasure, with a strong literary history, and it contains over thirty-five historic buildings surrounded by 324 acres including unspoiled natural woodlands and meadows, several well marked nature trails and a rare T. H. & B. Steam locomotive. Westfield was a filming location for the popular Anne of Green Gables film series. Keep an eye on www.tellingtales.org, due to launch in May 2009.
