The Word On The Street is Expanding its Eco-Friendly Initiatives for 2012

The Word on the Street 2012

This year, The Word On The Street Toronto is moving out of Queen's Park and back into the street. The festival will be held around the park, from University Avenue and Bloor Street and around Queen's Park Crescents East and West, to Wellesley Street and South of Wellesley, around the Ontario Legislature Building, to College Street. According to The Word On The Street, the shift in venues because the city has restoration plans for the park.

The festival is keeping the "green momentum" going by hosting environmentalists and authors David Suzuki and Jeff Rubin as the festival's headliners. The authors will discuss ecology and economics at the Scotiabank Giller Prize Bestsellers Stage at 3 p.m.

The Word On The Street has reported that there are a greater number of eco-friendly projects at the festival than ever before. The festival's Green Initiaties Partners are Webcom, Cascades Fine Paper Group, Cascades Recovery Inc., Cycle Toronto and Bullfrog Power.
