Trillium Book Awards Author Reading 2015

I'm Here! (Now...where is that exactly?!)

Hi OBers!
I have a couple of things I would like to let you know: first of all, I "borrowed" 'OBers' from Thom Vernon, the July WIR, whose blog I followed last month. Basically, although I was thrilled to be approached to be the Open Book Toronto, WIR, I didn't really know what I should be doing or what to expect. So....under the cover of darkness and by the hum of my necessary but very unPC AC, I followed along with Thom on his WIR journey to try and be prepared. Sadly, I am not as much prepared as I am richer for the experience: Thom's month of WIRness is a tough act to follow!
As is typical of me, I find myself in the enviable position of getting to do something really cool without any clear understanding of how I got here. Rather than panicking, I decided I would 'fess up in my first blog and let you know that I am looking forward to stretching my mind and doing some learning over this next month and then getting the chance to share what I learn with you.
I have lined up some authors to interview, granted they are sports people but writers all the same. I am planning on reading at least 3 books I found on the Ontario Book Publishers' website and look forward to sharing my impressions. It's summer and there is a lot going on in the city so I hope to get to some of that as well.
In the meantime, if you have any other ideas or questions or comments, I would be delighted to hear from you!
Time for me to get reading...more later :)
