Novel-tv: Type – Episode 1 with Terry Fallis and Shawn Hewson

Type is a new series of "co-interviews" where authors are paired with creative people in other fields of art and culture such as fashion, art, culinary arts, music, film/TV, theatre, dance and more.

In each segment, our guests open up a discussion by asking each other about their respective work and inspirations. Full of natural curiosity and without any pre-set questions or previous encounters, this series is filled with the type of spontaneous, engaging conversation that can happen at really good dinner parties, cocktail parties and other chatty gatherings....and then stick in your head for days.

Terry Fallis is the author of The Best Laid Plans, a satire of Canadian politics. His debut novel, it won the 2008 Stephen Leacock Award for Humour and is published by McClelland & Stewart. He worked as an assistant to Cabinet Ministers at Queen's Park in Ottawa before entering communications and public affairs consulting.

A former Bay Street lawyer, Shawn Hewson founded Bustle Clothing in 2002. The line is a leading Canadian sportswear label that has become well known for its cheeky and sharply tailored leisure aesthetic. Shawn is also a designer judge on Project Runway Canada.

Novel-tv is a new web channel offered exclusively by Open Book and produced by Spontaneously Combusted Films.
